BOY SCOUT CENTENNIAL CAMPOREE BACKPACKING CAMPOUT

The Central NC Council will be celebrating 100 Years of Scouting at the Centennial Camporee on September 24-26, 2010 at Camp Barnhardt. Space is very limited so you need to sign-up to your right under “Event Registration”. I have reserved 16 spots and they will be filled first come first served on our website. The Central NC Council closes it’s registration ON 8/02/10 but I will not be able to register you after 7/30/10.

CAMPING ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS YORKTOWN

It is now time to sign-up for our December outing aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Yorktown at Patriot’s Point near Charleston, SC. Sign-up is to your right under “Event Registration”. We have 55 reserved spots for males that will be doled out based on when you sign-up on our website. Females can come too as long as space is available in the female only bunk area. The camping fee is $64.00 per person for the weekend and is due to Troop 173 on September 28, 2010. We need parent participation for this trip!

Patrol Leaders Council Meeting

The PLC (Patrol Leaders Council) will meet on Tuesday July 20, 2010 at the church. Members of the PLC are the Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leaders from each patrol, Troop Guides, Quartermasters, Historian, Chaplain Aide and other troop leaders as needed.

Crew Tee Shirts for the 2010 Florida Sea Base High Adventure camp

We are collecting sizes and money for the Florida Sea Base Tees. We need all monies turned in to Todd Waits by Tuesday, March 2nd. The cost is $20.00 per tee. Two tee shirt designs are offered. Design #1 on the Cool Grey shirt or Design #2 on the Steel shirt. To see the designs and shirt colors please go to http://www.bsaseabase.org/WhatsHot/custom_tees.aspx to view. Summer Camp 2010

It’s time to start firming up our plans for this year’s summer camp at Bud Schiele. We are being limited to 20 spots this year. I’m working on trying to get additional spots but if you are planning to attend summer camp this year I need to hear from you as soon as possible. I will place you on the list in the order I hear from you. Also, please note that the first installment of $75 is due next Tuesday. Please bring your payment to secure your spot. We are currently holding all 20 spots for current Troop 173 members so I hope there will be room for everyone that wants to attend.
