It’s time to start firming up our plans for this year’s summer camp at Bud Schiele. We are being limited to 20 spots this year. I’m working on trying to get additional spots but if you are planning to attend summer camp this year I need to hear from you as soon as possible. I will place you on the list in the order I hear from you. Also, please note that the first installment of $75 is due next Tuesday. Please bring your payment to secure your spot. We are currently holding all 20 spots for current Troop 173 members so I hope there will be room for everyone that wants to attend.

It’s time to consider Troop 173’s options for a High Adventure experience for the summer of 2011.

In November of 2009 we applied online for a 2011 summer Philmont Scout Ranch reservation for Troop 173. Reservations were picked in a random lottery generated by a computer. In December we received notifiaction that Troop 173 did not get picked for a 2011 summer lottery reservation. Troop 173 was placed on a waiting list with all others not selected. Some time this month we will be notified by mail as to where we are on the pecking order for the waiting list. Go to http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HighAdventure/Philmont.aspx to learn all about the Philmont scout camp and the associated cost. A scout has to be 14 (no exceptions) by September 1, 2011 in order to attend in 2011. Philmont could still be an option but it will be a long shot for us depending on the order of the waiting list. Plus it could be short notice for us.

Troop 173 T-Shirts are back in stock. Sizes Medium, Large, and X-Large are $8.00 each. Size XX-Large is $9.00 each. We do not stock Small sizes. The red Troop 173 T-Shirt is part of the Class "B" Uniform.

The deadline for getting an appointment to the Concord District Board of Review (CDBOR) is two weeks before the review is held. The Concord District Board of Review is for Eagle Project approvals, Star Rank, Life Rank and Eagle Rank.

There have been a lot of questions about uniforms and meetings and about what to wear and not to wear so...

Boys and adult leaders are ALWAYS to be in some type of uniform unless told otherwise by the Senior Patrol leader, Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmasters. Everyone MUST wear closed toe shoes at meetings, outings and campouts. Here is the uniform break down:
